Having read the first two books in this excellent historical fiction series, I was eager to read book 3.
You would think that having read the first two books, I would be expecting harrowing elements of the story, but this book seemed even more heartbreaking than the previous books, as long hidden secrets were revealed and we discovered the truth.
A powerful and emotional story full of strong women of four generations, set in a part of the world I had very limited knowledge of. Dinah brought Marrakech to life, both the beauty and the dangers.
You don’t have to have read the first two books in the series to understand this story, but personally I would recommend it, so that you understand the second part of the book, as the three sisters are reunited.
It would be fascinating to see the series brought to life in a TV series - as long as the script did justice to the book.
