A brilliant end to a brilliant trilogy. It seems like a good mystery and I imagine it helps if you have read her previous books which include some characters, although I think it's a stand-alone. This book is really exciting and is based in Morocco around the troubles in the 1960s. It is very well written and historically accurate as well as having a great story. Staring out into the dark on the rattling night train to Marrakech, French student Vicky Baudin is running from a failed relationship and in search of her icon, the great designer Yves St Laurent. But she is also looking for the truth about the mysterious grandmother who gave her father up for adoption decades before.
The seductive colors, sights, sounds, and aromas of Marrakech, with a hidden, darker side, are so powerfully evoked that you are instantly transported there. Absolutely lovely reading.
