This is the third book of a series (which I did not know about), but I feel it was a good book even as a standalone. Although, it would be nice to read the previous books to get a better picture of the characters and understand them better. Very beautifully written however and I adore how the author transports you to Morocco in the 60's with her detailed descriptions. Vicky travels to Marrakech to meet her grandmother for the first time and discovers new things about her family which she was not aware of. This is full of family politics, true love and deep dark secrets. The story-line is gripping and keeps you hooked. It makes me feel even sad reading this at a time when Marrakech is being consumed by impacts of the earthquake, and I feel a stronger sense of warmth and sympathy to the people of Morocco. A nice and cozy read which I highly recommend.
