I received this book to review just as the dreadful news of the earthquake in Morocco was breaking.
For this reason, I put it aside to read at a later time.
Once I returned to it, I was acutely aware of the powerful descriptions of the setting and people featured, contrasted sharply with the recent destruction of such a beautiful, exotic place, and the lives of its inhabitants.
I have not read the previous two novels in this trilogy, but feel it works perfectly as a stand alone novel; not once did I feel I was missing vital information by not having read the previous two books.
Romance, excitement, intrigue and family relationships are all bound together, set in an atmosphere that you can almost smell.
I look forward to reading the compete series of three books at my leisure in the future.
To all readers who enjoy a novel they can lose themselves in, I would say: "Enjoy your journey as you follow Vicky through hers".
