A book with a beautiful cover, although this is the third in a series, I have not read the others and it truly works as a standalone story. This is a story about family and secrets that cross generations, and is truly fascinating throughout. The exotic location of Morocco, a grandmother who resides there and a setting of the 1960s, a key decade for fashion developments makes this a page turner.
Vicky, our protagonist and fashion student, goes on a physical and metaphorical journey to find out about her family, as well as to find out about herself. When she witnesses a murder, her whole life changes and the plot takes up along with her. The beautiful location is depicted on the cover of this book, which transports the reader effortlessly to another place and time. The wonderfully descriptive language of the author perfectly encapsulates all of this for us, and I will now be seeking out the first two books in the trilogy.
