Night Train to Marrakech by Dinah Jefferies was OK but not as exciting as it could have been. It is the last in a trilogy but can be read on its own. I had not read the other books in the series but still understood the book and did not feel this detracted in any way. The title sounds exciting but did not really relate to what the book was about and felt a bit misleading.
Vicky travels to Marrakech to meet the grandmother she never knew about. While in Marrakech she gets embroiled in danger through friends she meets. This leads to murder and her cousin going missing. Her grandmother is also hiding secrets from her childhood and an old acquaintance bring trouble to them both.
The characters and story sounded exciting and likeable but overall I felt the book lacked something, and afterwards I felt it could be so much more than what it was. It felt a bit stretched out and full of not needed descriptions.
It was a light read that would have been better off if shorter in length.
