I always love reading a good debut, and I love books based on true stories. The premise and first impression suggest that this book may be difficult to read at times. But that doesn’t mask the importance of giving voices to people who may not have had them before. This shines a light on the darker side of life. I have been left wanting to know more about what happens to Kiara and Trevor and the extent of the police corruption.
