The front cover is engaging and does make me want to pick the book up. I found the first few pages to be uncomfortable and bleak. A challenging portrait of a life lived on the edges of society. I'm not sure if I would want to read more based on these first few pages but it did start to draw me in - wanting to know what happens to the main character.
