This was a moving and deeply sad start to a book, where we are introduced to Ki and her brother Marcus, two teenagers who are struggling to make ends meet after their mother has disappeared.
The relationship Ki has with Ale shows they are just normal teenagers who sadly have to face up to the reality of life, hustling and working too young.
