The cover is a bit too vibrant for my liking and I don't feel it reflects the dark nature of the synopsis. The synopsis sounds a bit grim and I'm not sure that this book would make for an enjoyable read. The extract feels rather American and reads like a young adult novel, even though it doesn't seem to be marketed as such. I'm not sure I would want to read the rest of this book.
