The narrative follows the perspective of a 17 year old girl, and as a result, it is clear that this child is streetwise by the use of urban language used throughout. This story seems to explore the role of a child and how sometimes, families can be held accountable to behaviour, how some children have to fed for themselves in the world. I think this will be a story of survival, identify and coming of age, whilst having some major turns along the way. I also feel this will explore what it is to live in an adult world as a child. The first few chapters completely gripped me and I would love to read more!
