Well the opening extract was enough of an eye-opener into just how raw and frankly shocking this story will be and the fact that it stems from reality makes it all the more harrowing. However, for all its uncompromising grittiness I found it a pretty compulsive read and it feels imperative to see Kiara's journey through to the bitter end. Given that the author wrote this at the age of just seventeen the quality of the writing is staggering and for me this feels like a must read.
