I think the premise of Nightcrawling sounds really interesting, but also a sad story. The first chapter opened with an introduction into Kiara's home life and troubles she's facing, and I feel this probably sets the scene well for what's to come. The main character's are introduced, and I'm intrigued to see how the storyline develops.
