This was an incredibly dark book from the offset so I was instantly aware of what I was going into and even then I don't think I could ever be prepared for what we would experience in this book. I found it to be a very compelling and yet harsh read. The struggles our character faced, such as abuse and poverty were really deeply discussed and I felt these conversations can sometimes be brushed around but not in nightcrawling.
My heart was in my mouth a lot through the story and I was so deeply invested in Kiera, that I would feel her pain and I empathised with her constantly. She had such a solid attitude, one that I felt inspired by considering all she was going through!
I really enjoyed this book and I feel those who read the trigger warnings and feel they are capable of taking on such a read should most definitely do it! It's awe inspiring and motivational from start to end!
