I thought this book sounded really interesting when I read the synopsis and I heard quite a bit about it so I had fairly high expectations going into it.
It took me longer than usual to really get into feel connected to the characters, however once I did I couldn’t put it down.
This book covers some tough topics, and there were a few parts of the book that I found genuinely hard to read. I think the author handles these topics brilliantly, with enough sensitivity to those who have been through it, but with enough bluntness to make people really take note and fight for change.
I was shocked to find out that this book is loosely based on a true story, so this is clearly an issue that needs to be raised.
I think this was an amazing debut novel, brilliantly written and I would 100% recommended. I hope I get to read more by this author. Easily a 5* read!!
