The author took inspiration from a real life event and I truly believe she did it justice in a world where there is so often none for those in a higher power.
The main female character Kiera is such a strong ilex and strong mixed young girl who just wants the best for her family and I truly felt for her.
Kiaras journey was a painful one but she is also a survivor and I was rooting for her throughout the whole book.
The author did an incredible job and the writing was almost poetic to read and I found it amazing that this is her debut novel as it is so hard hitting and well written.
The story was very difficult to read as there is a dark theme in terms of what the fmc went though but also that she was so young and already was struggling it’s taking the mantle as the adult trying to support her family in the best way she could while going through so much herself.
