Nightcrawling is a story that will tug on your heartstrings a lot. Following the story of a young girl who is just trying to survive and finds herself in a mess that no young woman would ever choose for themselves, we read about her struggles but her love for her family (both blood and chosen).
The strength and resilience of the FMC really shines through and makes your heart ache at what she has to go through to stay afloat. It is a really eye opening read about the unfortunately very real world that some of us couldn't even begin to comprehend exists on the streets of America.
The writing in this novel is very well articulated and reads as a beautiful prose. It's hard to imagine that this is a debut novel, and I feel that this author will do very well with future endeavors too.
A definite must read for all, but be very mindful of the trigger warnings for this book when you pick it up.
