This was an incredible read that broke my heart in so many places, it was a quick read that kept me wanting to turn the pages to find out what was going to happen, it made me so angry at the injustice and the lengths people have to go to in order to keep afloat in life. The main plot being based on a true story made me feel so many emotions but mostly sorrow for anyone who is forced into these kinds of situations and do not get the proper support or justice from anyone. This didn't read like a debut novel and I'm greatly looking forward to picking up more from this author as they have a real talent for invoking emotions and great writing. The characters were so well fleshed out, they all had their flaws as humans do and they were multi-faceted showing the good and bad all at once. I read this in almost one sitting and I devoured every single detail and page.
