The story is told by Kiara, who is 17 yrs old. Her dad died, her mum is in a rehab clinic and her brother is self obsessed with trying to make it in the music industry but failing. her brother annoyed me making me feel all the more for liars. The characters were realistic and the dialogue was written in local vernacular which made it more authentic. The story takes a turn for the worst there is light at the tunnel for kiara. I thought it finished bluntly and would have liked to read more about how her life had turned after the Courtcase. This is based upon on a true story and the young writer did brilliantly. It was convincing, detailed and well written. I wouldn’t say suitable for young teens as some have reviewed it at, I wouldn’t want my daughter to read it. I look forward to her next book I think she is a very talent young author at only 17 years writing this.
