On the surface, I was really looking forward to his one. I found the first look engaging, unnerving, uncomfortable but compelling. So far, so good.

I found the characters to be well thought out and interesting also. I think there’s been a lot of work on really making them developed and detailed which I also enjoyed. There’s a real skill to bringing characters to live and this book certainly does that for sure.

However, for me I felt like it was too much on the edge, too risky and too far at certain points. I totally appreciate the craft and the work that went into it but I did find it a tricky read at points.

Not for the faint hearted at all really but if you’re into this genre, then this writer doesn’t disappoint. It’s just a bit too much for me.

Overall, there are many more positives than there are negatives but this book in my opinion suits a particular reader.
