Nightcrawling had a lot of elements that I liked, one of the key things that I was incredibly impressed with was that such a young author can write a debut book that deals with such difficult topics. I found Kiara's character had a lot of depth, which made her feel very real.

However, I found the way this book was written slightly difficult to read, the first half of the book's pacing was very very slow and a bit tedious to get through. The characters weren't particularly likeable at first, not that they were unlikeable per se, but I didn't feel any connection until a while in.

I felt as though the ending was just way to rushed and made me appreciate the ending far less.

Ultimately, I did enjoy this book, however I don't think I would recommend this to friends, mostly because I really had to force myself to keep reading. Although it was worth it, I normally wouldn't give a book this long before stopping reading it.
