This is the story of seventeen year old kiara, who is struggling to keep the roof over her and her brothers (Marcus) head while also looking out for there very young neighbour (Trevor)who’s mum comes and goes has she pleases. Her brother seems to have given up trying to support them because he thinks he can make it big by becoming a music artist so spends all his time at his friends studio (not doing a lot in kiaras eyes, she can’t get a job because she has no qualifications ( she left school before getting them) . After a drunken encounter with a stranger that then paid her she decides to start working the streets to make ends meet ( it seems the only way to her and I get we’re she’s coming from after reading this book). One night she is caught by two rogue policemen one of which takes advantage of the situation there and then, from there they use her as they wish often inviting her to there “games” nights. I wasn’t very keen on this one as thought it was very slow but the fact it is based on a true story kept me reading.
