I picked this up thinking it was something different and was pleasantly surprised. I honestly cannot believe how young the author is. This book has also been long listed for the Booker prize and hopefully will also be short listed.
I love Kiara and I just wanted to help her at every opportunity. Leaning that this is based on true events doesn’t surprise me and in fact made me more angry that people who are meant to help take advantage of their positions.
I really hope that more people read this book and it gets the recognition it truly deserves.
I will be picking up Leila Mottley’s work in the future.
