'Nightcrawling' is a book I don't have words for. The plot and the overall concept is real, raw and gritty and just perfect. Mottley knows how to write and I do wish her ultimate success in future books.
However, certain parts fell flat on me due to the writing style. But that doesn't mean that the story was horrible, it was beautiful.
To conclude my review, 'Nightcrawling' is one of those books that I wish they would read and annotate for children to showcase raw literature as a whole but also a book I feel like everyone needs to read no matter what type of genres they enjoy. Was it the greatest piece of literature? Of course not, it allows the author to keep using her voice and develop the eventual beautiful prose and style I know she will have. But it's pretty darn good for a debut and I hope she is proud of the writing she has done and the success she will have.
