When I read the blurb of this book I was excited to read more and thought that it had the potential to be a page-turning read. Unfortunately, I really struggled to get into the book and make it to the end.
I think that the book covers important themes and can enlighten readers to the realities of those struggling in the world. However I found that the book moved too slowly and I struggled with the writing style. Whilst the plot of the book was good, for the most part I found myself forcing myself to keep going. Had it not been a copy for review I probably wouldn't have put as much effort into finishing.
I do still think the overall plot was good but just found the book too slow moving and a bit of a drag. It felt like the book could have been at least half as long and not really lose anything.
