I loved this story, it was darker than expected in some areas but there was also an almost optimism coming through in the story. It definitely kept me interested and I wanted to read more. I definitely found this book hard to put down. I did not realise that the author was so young due to the complex scenes in the book and proficient level of writing. I found it very challenging to decide where my allegiance lay due to having very clear empathy towards kiara and trevor but also being able to empathise with her mother and brother and other characters, which clearly demonstrates well written characters. I was guessing right until the end what decisions kiara and others may make and the possible consequences given by these decisions. I would highly recommend this book to honestly anyone who enjoys a good mystery-type book where you are picking away motives and decisions
