I had wanted to read this and thought it was going to be my usual kind of read but it was much different to what I had thought when I read the first impression and the blurb.
Although it wasn’t my usual read, I enjoyed the book. It just felt like Kiara could not catch and break and my heart broke for her multiple times within the story. I feel like the book showed both her naïveté as well as her self awareness of the realities of her world and what the adult world is like for some young women. Kiara was such an inspiration throughout the book, always remaining positive in the most awful of her situations and taking care of her family and friends.
The front cover would have always drawn me in and it’s such a beautiful and simple design.
This book is honestly worth a read, I think it is such a powerful book and what it depicts for some young women getting by in the world.
