I had never heard of the US law that was implemented in 2017. I never knew that people were left feeling like this and violently removed from their countries. I can understand why if used correctly this would help to counter terroist attacks. But you can never assume someone is a terroist because of their ethnicity!
This opening kept me literally speechless. The way that the reader’s perspective was the spouse of the character was stunning. Yara Zgheib writes physical scenes so beautifully I had to look away at multiple points just to breathe and process what I was reading..
I liked how it successfully put us into the situation from the first line. I really need to know what happens to the couple. Is her baby going to make it through this? Will the husband die?
I really like the colour scheme on the cover and the mountain.
