All I can say is wow - what an emotional, stunning start to this story. The author's description and the way she writes really made me feel what the characters were going through - I felt their stress, their fear and their desperation. I am glad she didn't shy away from including the casual racism people are subjected to. I am glad the author has written about this subject as too often we are detached from headlines in the news. They're not just headlines, this is people suffering and it should not go ignored. An impressive start to an important story.
