I was extremely happy to be given the opportunity to read No Land to Light on. I love the cover, it is colourful and really pretty. I've recently read Infinite Country and this lead me to wishing to read more book about immigration. Some books just make you stop and really think and No Land to Light on is exactly one of these books

It begins with Sama a young, married, pregnant Syrian woman heading to the airport to meet her husband Hadi, a Syrian who was granted refugee status in the US. Hadi had left the USA to see family and upon return was told about the Muslim Travel Ban imposed by President Trump which removed his refugee status forcing him to return “home”.

Sama goes into labour without hearing from her husband or knowing what is happening - a heatbreaking experience to read about and we are left to wonder - will the family be reunited?

The book is extremely well written, I particularly loved the way it moves between the perspective of both husband and wife, both characters are extremely well developed and engaging.

I think this book is very thought provoking, I would definitely recommend although it is abit of an emotional rollercoaster and you won't remain dry eyed.
