I found this book, No Land to Light On, very interesting because it gave me an insight to life circumstances that had not crossed my path before.

I had not realised that immigrants to America, who had live in the United States for many years and had the misfortune to leave the country and travel to their original homelands on a temporary basis at the exact moment that ex-president Donal Trump closed the American borders to many foreign nationals, were effectively locked out of their own adopted country, unable to return to their home and their loved ones. I was horrified to discover the coersion and lack of clear information for the unfortunate people who were travelling at just the wrong moment in time and to discover that they were forced to sign documents that voided their right to live in or visit America and physically assaulted if they did not comply.

This book really opened my eyes. My only dislikes were the sections on birds, which I felt had a rather flimsy link to the story and didn't capture my interest.
