A story that will stay with me for a long time
Every so often you find yourself lucky enough to read a book that hits you right in the heart and makes you so grateful for the privileges you have. This was definitely one of those books for me. I adored it and will be thinking about it for a long time.
This book shows what a massive impact the travel ban introduced by Trump would have had on families and their lives. Hadi and Sama are married, originally from Syria they met and fell in love in Boston. Sama is pregnant with their first child when Hadi leaves to meet his parents in Jordan to try and help them get visas for America. With incredibly bad timing Hadi returns to America after Trump has introduced the travel ban and is told he is unable to enter America. What follows is a heartbreaking story of families divided, a story full of love and an insight into what immigrants have to face in order to try and give themselves and their families a better life. I highly recommend this book.
