After reading the synopsis and being drawn in by the beautiful cover of this book, I had so many expectations. It turned out to be a much different book than the one j was expecting, however it was one that I thoroughly enjoyed.
The writing style in this book was really unique and added a lot to the book. It created pace when it was required, and it also added a poetic element to the book. This was enhanced even more by the brief chapters about the birds and the comparison between them and the characters lives.
The only reason I only gave this book four stars was because I didn’t feel like we got to know the characters as much as I would have liked to. We only saw fairly brief glimpses of their relationship which meant that although I was rooting for them as individuals, as a couple I wasn’t as bothered where they end up.
Overall I would definitely recommend this book for the beautiful writing.
