I was really looking forward to this book from when I read the blurb and did my first review. Unfortunately I really struggled to grasp the time line due to each chapter swapping back and forth, I had to keep flicking backwards to check what date the first chapter was so I could work out which period the present chapter was about. I felt that there was more in the story about the couple’s relationship prior to the incident of separation which is what I was intrigued to read more about. I wanted to read this book to gain insight into immigration and the process at airports and what leads the official people to make the decisions they do, I didn’t get that knowledge from this story and am disappointed by that. I loved the cover of the book with the simplicity of the design and the colours made me feel calm but didn’t feel much calmness when reading it
