I had high hopes for this story and it was particularly poignant because of the times we are living through at the moment.

I felt the couple's pain at their cruel separation and the fact that they unable to be together, particularly at the birth of their child. It was a bureaucratic nightmare for Hadi not being able to re-enter the country that he had recently left to attend his father's funeral and it was so frustrating for the couple but they could nothing about it. I did feel sorry for Sama going into early labour and having to cope with such a difficult situation herself.

However, I did not like the way the book jumped timelines, in some stories this works but it only gave a disjointed feel to the story for me. I thought I would be in floods of tears reading this story but I can't say it really hit the spot for me, which is a shame as it could have been such a powerful story.
