I found the cover of this book both beautiful and aptly suited to the novel itself. The novel was expertly written and I enjoyed reading the excerpts before the chapters. I found the subject of the novel to be interesting and informative and it gave me insight into the many perils refugees face. The author wrote the book with great sensitivity and style and though dealing with a delicate subject it remained easy to read. I especially appreciated the insight into Syria and its people and I thought the author painted a picture that allowed me to have a sense of that country. Whilst a love story I do think the novel was multifaceted and kept my interest up until the end. I would love to know what happened to the protagonists in their future lives! All in all I would definitely recommend this novel as its well written with an interesting and memorable story.
