I do not think that there are enough words to describe the beauty and devastation of this book!
I am new to this author but she has an amazing ability to write in a way which is entirely engaging, easy to read, beautiful and also heart breaking!
No land to light on is a story of love loved through the pain of separation and injustice. Same and Hadi meet in America and build a life together until a new law tears them apart, just as their son make an early appearance in the world.
The story telling really does show you the human aspect of immigration policies and the destructive power that was wielded by one man.
Yet despite the trauma, the injustice, the lack of control and the pain, Sama and Hadi find a way through without turning to hatred. They manage to hold onto their dignity and find a way to live, to plan to be reunited even if not in the way they once hoped for.
