No land to light on is a great book about young love and refugees. However, i only rated it 3 starts due to it not being my type of read. It was a moving and heartbreaking read taking in the fact it deals with content that may not excite everybody. It is exciting when they have to fight for freedom for their family. It was very emotional and the characters for me was very lovable. It is set in the United Sates about a sponsored refugee who has spent some years in prison but escaped before his father died. I was on the edge of my seat and kept getting shocked throughout my time reading this book. You get to see the point of views of both characters, Hadi and Sama during the past and present. I liked this way of writing as it gives you extra information, it’s very clever. We also experienced the pattern of bird migratory which didn’t quite make sense to me. Overall it’s up to you whether you want to read it.
