No Land to Light On is the story of Hadi and Sama; Syrian refugees who find themselves on the wrong side of deportation from America.

The story itself is thought provoking and really makes you think about the day to day rights and privilege we take for granted. As when forcibly taken away, the world becomes a frightening and lonely place - as Hadi experiences.

Despite finding the story interesting, I also found it difficult to follow at times and had to skip back to try and make some sense of it. The structure and timeline were definitely not easy for me to follow and I also struggled with working out who other characters were.

That said, it's still worth a read. It's tricky to work out if this should be classed as dystopian or not, as it could so easily be real. A chilling story that makes you realise how the place/time of your birth is pure chance.
