I’m not sure what I make of this book. It is very muddled in the way it is written and very hard to follow.
Sama had left Syria behind some while ago and settled in America where she seemed to have made herself a good and happy life.
Hadi was a new refugee and for some reason he was at a party and met Sama. They became a couple very quickly and got a small place together. Hadi wanted his family to move as well and had got everything sorted out for them but on eve of their visa appointment his dad died. Hadi went to Syria for the funeral and to help his mum but when he tried to get into American he found there was a new ruling and he wasn’t allowed back in again and was returned to Syria.
Sama is waiting at the airport for him to arrive, she was pregnant and was getting caught up in a crush and then she had pains start.
It also says about birds migrating, I found that part unnecessary as didn’t bring anything to the story.
