Wow! I had seen the news about refugees losing their homes and being deported but I never really followed it. Reading this it made me realise that this was happening to real people, who have lives and who lost their rights and lives. I generally felt like I started to understand it all more because I read this book.
Hadi and Sama story is probably someone’s story. They may be fictional characters but people in this world had this happen to them. Families were torn apart, seperated because someone thought this was the right thing to do when it clearly wasn’t.
I throughly enjoyed the book but I did get lost while reading it there was too many time jumps even with the dates I didn’t seem to be able to keep tabs on what was actually going on.
The cover of the book is beautiful and I would recommend it to my friends but I would warn them that it can be confusing at times.
