I was gripped from the outset with this book. I always have a soft spot for Irish-set novels so that got me interested from the start, alongside an opening chapter which has a sense of foreboding writ large. From Lauren's situation we are taken to Cathy who clearly has a dramatic Police history and it's very clear that these two characters are going to cross paths. The only question is whether or not Lauren will be alive when this happens.
