This is Sam Blake's third book. I haven't read the first two but enjoyed this so I will go back and read them.
Detective Garda Cathy Connolly is the main character in these books and is a well drawn likeable character.She is a forensic profiler. She starts the novel annoyed as she has been overlooked for a promotion.
She is called to a hit and run and shortly afterwards a suicide. Both victims are young students with no apparent connection.
Connections are found to the dark web and a series of cold cases.
This book is very well written and draws the reader in. I did find it a slight disadvantage not to have read the first two but not enough to put me off. I would recommend this series to everyone.
