This book is told from the perspective of a seventeen year old girl called Stacey, who has been raped. I was intrigued by Cassidy's characterisation of Stacey, especially the description of her appearance. She is described as short, not your conventional idea of a beautiful woman etc. For this reason, I am already beginning to relate to her on these grounds. I am also drawn by the seemingly ambiguous style of the plot, as we so far only know the name of Stacey's rapist, Harry. I am very much interested to see if he is older than her, younger than her or of a similar age, and how he is presented.
I also have a friend who was raped a few years ago so it's interesting to hear a story from the point of view of the victim!
