AN IMPORTANT BOOK FOR GIRLS OF THE 21ST CENTURY
*TRIGGER WARNING: RAPE*
"My name is Stacey Woods and I was raped."
This is the first line of chapter one and it drew me in. From what I have read so far of the four-chapter-preview, the story is about a teenager Stacey Woods and the aftermath of her rape and how she battles and comes to terms with what happened to her.
A strong and empowering novel about finding your voice and speaking out against those who disbelieve, doubt the truth and choose to ignore and see you as a statistic instead of an vulnerable person, who had endured and lived though a terrible event that would leave a deep, invisible scar that will haunt and be a reminder everyday onward. An important read for young girls and teenagers of the 21st century.
After finishing the teaser, I wanted to continue with the story and see how events and truths unravel so I decided to buy the e-book on kindle. I am excited to continue with this book and hopefully get to the sequel. I would definitely recommend.
