I found the storyline to this hard to follow, there seemed to be a lot of different characters, in different places and with different events going on all at once. I feel like if I had continued to read on, it may have got easier as I began to understand the characters more and what their role in the book was. But as an initial read, I did find it hard to follow and understand at times. However, it has been well written with lots of descriptive text as well as a good balance of speech too. It is interesting to read though, especially as it's not the sort of book I would normally go to, therefore whilst it was hard to follow at times, I feel like if I had read on and read the entire book then I would have been able to understand and enjoy it more.
