This is a thriller worthy of Ian Fleming or Gerald Seymour. This is a very topical story about treason in MI6, Islam extremists, ex Soviet oligarchs and a threat to the US president and world peace. Marc Dane is a behind the scenes technical geek who is forced to become an active agent when the rest of his team are massacred.
There were parts of the book where I got a bit confused about who were the goodies and who were the baddies but it all became clear in the end with a breath taking climax in Washington DC.
The main character, Marc Dane, reminded me of Jack Reacher in that he is a good guy who has been forced into the wilderness because of treachery in the government agency he works for.
I also learned a new word - ruggedized.
The sequel, Exile is high on my 'to be read' list.
