Wow. This book is brilliant. I couldn't put it down until I reached the end. It is extraordinarily well written with brilliant pacing. It's a must read. I have read some of James swallows other works, his 24 book, some of his warhammer and doctor who books. This is very different but the quality of his writing remains on point. While it was well written and the pacing was great, I feel some parts in the middle of the book are not as well written as the majority of the book. But it's only noticeable if your searching for a criticism, this book is beautifully written and I can't wait to read the sequel, exile. The main character Marc Dane is interesting and complex and reminds me of Jack Bauer from 24.
