I wasn’t keen
Although I found the premise of this book interesting at first I found that it just wasn’t for me. I found the obsession with hair a little weird to read as I’ve never read a book with hair as such a prime focus.
Our main character Norma, has magical abilities to be able to tell people feelings, illnesses, dreams and more and her hair responds to this (again a little weird). This book deals with many issues all in a way centred around hair - different women through the ages all want beautiful hair, it’s about social status too.
The writing style is quite poetic with a lot of flowery comparisons and I’m not sure I liked it that much. I didn’t manage to finish the whole book as it just wasn’t for me.
