I don't think I enjoyed any part of this book. The writing style was hard-going, difficult to read or enjoy. The characters were hard to figure out and none of them seemed particularly likeable.
I think the book might have made more sense if you had read the first in the series. However, as a standalone book it felt confusing and the explanations that there were seemed to get in the way of the plot.
